Neurofeedback is...Neurofeedback is a subdivision of biofeedback. During neurofeedback sessions, electronic sensors monitor brainwave patterns and specific feedback is provided when different patterns emerge, which train the brain how to stay regulated. When the brainwaves are working in balanced patterns, the brain is regulated and in its optimal state. When unbalanced, the brainwaves are dysregulated. Symptoms of AD/HD, anxiety, depression, poor sleep quality, and other similar things arise from the brain being dysregulated. Individual brainwaves work like the strings of a guitar. When all strings are in tune, there is harmony, but if one string goes out of tune, everything is thrown off. Like a guitar, a brain can be tuned.
